Publishable Notes Program

Each year, the Review accepts Note submissions from 2L and 3L Columbia Law School J.D. candidates to be considered for publication in the Review.

The Review considers 2L student Notes for publication through its Publishable Notes 1 (PN1) program. If a Note is selected, its author will be invited to join the Review and begin staff work in the August preceding her 3L year. The deadline for PN1 submissions is February 4, 2010.

The Review considers 3L student Notes for publication through its Publishable Notes 2 (PN2) program. PN2 offers 3Ls a chance to publish their work in the Review , but authors of selected Notes are not invited to join the Review. The deadline for PN2 submissions will be in late summer/fall of 2010.

The Review may not select any Notes through PN1 and PN2. In recent years, however, it has selected about one Note per year through PN1 and about one Note per year through PN2.

The Publishable Notes Manual, downloadable below, contains research advice and submission procedures, policies, and deadlines.
